This is a draft. A few details about the business are still to be filled in, where you see words in square brackets, and a solicitor is still to read it.
Terms of use
The agreement between Posie and the hosts who use it: what you get, what it costs, your right to change your mind, and what we each promise.
Last updated 27 October 2026.
About these terms
These terms are between you, the host, and [LEGAL NAME], which runs Posie (company number [COMPANY NUMBER], [REGISTERED ADDRESS], VAT number [VAT NUMBER]). You agree to them when you sign in to make an event, and again when you pay. Our privacy notice explains what we do with data, and is part of this agreement.
Guests do not need to agree to anything to open their page. If you are a guest, the part about using Posie well (below) still applies to what you add. Questions about any of this: [CONTACT EMAIL].
You must be 18 or over to make an event or pay for one, and you use Posie for a personal celebration, as a consumer. Nothing in these terms takes away your rights under UK consumer law.
What Posie is
Posie is digital: a wedding or celebration website, invitations and save the dates, a guest hub with replies, planning tools and a photo booth that runs on your own iPad or iPhone. The website is free. Card, Hub, Booth and Complete are paid, and each page on withposie.com and posiebooth.com says what each plan includes. Nothing physical is posted to you.
Paying
- You pay once for each event. There is no subscription and nothing renews.
- Prices are in pounds and include VAT. The price you pay is the one shown at checkout.
- Payment is by card through Stripe. We never see your full card number.
- Your plan belongs to one event and cannot be moved to another.
- Some plans have a guest limit. If your list grows past it, you can keep everything you have made, but you will need to upgrade before sending more cards.
Upgrades and add-ons
You can move up to a bigger plan or more guests at any time, and you pay only the difference between what you paid and the new price. Premium extras, such as a welcome video or your own wax seal, are a single extra payment for that event, shown before you pay. We do not move plans down or refund part of a plan you have used.
Changing your mind
UK law gives you 14 days from paying to cancel a purchase of digital content or a digital service. Because Posie starts working the moment you pay, checkout asks you to agree that it starts straight away, and to accept that your right to cancel ends once you start using what you bought: sending a card, opening your booth, or publishing your event to guests.
If you have paid and not started using it, write to [CONTACT EMAIL] within [REFUND WINDOW] of paying and we will refund you in full, to the card you paid with, within 14 days.
If something you paid for does not work as described and we cannot put it right in a reasonable time, you are entitled to a refund in full or in part, whether or not you have started using it. Tell us and we will sort it out.
When a payment is refunded, what it paid for is switched off: the event goes back to the free plan, and anything you made stays.
Using Posie well
Posie holds other people's details and pictures, so we ask everyone to use it kindly and lawfully. You agree:
- to add only guests you are really inviting, and only details they would expect you to have
- to use guests' details only for your celebration, and not to copy them out to sell or for marketing
- to upload only photos, videos, music and artwork that you own or have permission to use
- to take care with pictures of children, and with sharing anyone's photo more widely than they would expect
- not to upload anything unlawful, hateful, sexual or meant to harm or embarrass someone
- not to send cards to people who have not asked to hear from you, or use Posie to send anything that is not about your event
- not to try to get into another person's event, test our security without permission, or overload the service
You keep everything you make and upload. You give us permission to store, copy and show it only so far as we need to run your event, for as long as we keep it. Guests who add photos give the host and us the same permission.
If someone uses Posie in a way that breaks these rules, we may remove what they added, pause their event or close their account. We will tell you why, unless the law stops us, and give you a chance to put it right where that is fair.
Gifts and money
Posie never handles gift money. A gift list links to the shops you choose. A cash fund shows guests your own bank or payment app details, and they pay you directly. When a guest notes a gift on Posie, it is only a note: we do not check that a payment was made, and we are not part of any arrangement between you and your guests or a shop. Please check your details are right before you show them.
Keeping Posie running
We work hard to keep Posie available, most of all on your day. The photo booth keeps working without Wi-Fi and backs up when it can. Even so, the internet, a phone network or one of the companies we rely on can fail, and we sometimes need to stop briefly to make improvements. We will give notice of planned work when we can, and try never to do it at weekends.
We may improve or change features. We will not take away something central to a plan you have paid for, for an event that has not happened yet.
If something goes wrong
We provide Posie with reasonable care and skill, as the law requires. If we break these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of that, but not for loss that was not foreseeable when you paid.
Because Posie is for a personal celebration, we are not responsible for business losses. Apart from what the law does not let us limit, our total responsibility to you for an event is limited to what you paid us for it.
Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit, including your rights for digital content that is faulty, not as described or not fit for purpose. If faulty digital content we supply damages your device or other digital content, we will repair it or pay you fair compensation, unless you could have avoided it by following our instructions.
Please keep your own copies of the photos and videos you care most about. Posie lets you download them all.
Ending your account
You can stop using Posie at any time. To close your account and delete your events, write to [CONTACT EMAIL]; we will do it within 30 days and tell you when it is done. Download anything you want to keep first, because it cannot be brought back.
We may close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, as above. If we ever stop running Posie altogether, we will give you at least 60 days' notice, time to download your photos and replies, and a refund for any event that has not happened yet.
Changes, disagreements and the law
We may update these terms. The version you agreed when you paid applies to that purchase; we will tell you by email of any change to the rest that affects you.
If you are unhappy, please write to [CONTACT EMAIL] first: we would much rather put things right. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales, or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in your own courts.
